Nickel Based Alloy Plates
Nickel base plate
With various other metalsnickel forms solid solution alloys within a wide range of concentration. Nickelbase plates are technically applied due to their high specific corrosionresistance and their special physical properties. The element in question arecopper, iron, chromium, cobalt and molybdenum. Inter-metallic phases are formedby nickel with the elements titanium, aluminum and niobium and also withmolybdenum after ageing. Innickel base plate nickel forms cubic-face centered solid solution alloys withchromium and iron in a wide range of compositions. These alloys have a highcorrosion resistance at ambient and high temperatures. In the area of high ironcontents the austenitic nickel base plate is located, followed by Cr-Ni alloyswith increasing nickel contents up to about 70% Ni, 20% Cr and 10% Fe. To furtherimprove their strength, alloys can be additionally alloyed with cobalt and Mo,or with Ti, Al and Nb for age hardening. Ni-Cr and Ni-Cr-Mo nickel base platewhich is contained in the following list.
